Waterproof and wind resistant, it’s built carhartt tough; the seams are electronically welded and the major seams are also sewn for extra strength. For added protection, the coat’s engineered with a double-front storm placket with inside and outside protective flaps, and neoprene inner-sleeve cuffs with adjustable hook-and-loop closures. The left-chest pocket and two lower-front pockets also protect items from wetness; all feature hook-and-loop closures. When weather threatens, pull up the snap on/off detachable hood. Elbows are also reinforced for strength.

Carhartt Rain Gear / Surrey Coat High Quality PVC Rain Jacket from Carhartt. Nice over size cut to wear over heavy work shirt or light jacket. Rain coats are generally a low quality disapointment that never fit properly or hold up. Don’t get caught out in the field without this in your gear bag. A+++++

Quality Product – VERY Generous Sizing Since I usually wear a men’s size 50-Long jacket, I initially ordered a size 2XL-Tall. It was WAY TOO BIG, so I sent it back for a size XL-Tall, which fits just fine, with plenty of room for a warm flannel shirt underneath. I very much like the way that the mesh backing is bonded to the PVC outer shell, it make for a sturdy garment that’s easy to get on and off. The seams, button snaps, cuffs, etc have extra reinforcement. If you need a foul-weather outer coat, this is it!

Sturdy Looking Coat – Should Last – Just takes longer to button up than a zippered coat. This seems to be a well-made product. I like the thick elastic at the wrists that will keep out the wet/cold and make sure that even if you are working with your arms raised, no water will come running down your arms. The snap buttons aren’t quite as easy to get fastened/unfastened as a zipper, but the design with the overlapping flaps makes sense when you look at it in person. It is designed to hold up and last a lot better than a zipper, while keeping water out much better than a coat with…
