The medium fits great for me at 5′ 10″ and 155 pounds. I’m 5’10”, 155 pounds and this jacket in medium fits perfectly. I was really reluctant to buy this for the $150 premium because I’ve always thought of Carharrt as gear that was rugged quality and more about function than anything. This jacket is great quality and is surprisingly stylish. It reminds me a lot of my Polo Sport rain jacket. On top of that, it has 5 rainproof pockets and a hoodie that’s large enough even for us big headed individuals. The second I tried it on, I cut off the tags…

Returning the XXL for an XL! Typically for me (overweight Dad of 2), I am just under 6′ weighing 250 lbs so I have a belly, love handles and usually wear a size 38 to 40 pants. I have wide shoulders, for now I usually wear XXL shirts and Polos. For this order I should have treated the Carhartt Jacket as over sized, normally is and went with an XL. The best line of jackets I have ever owned I bought the unlined Shoreline for an Alaska fishing trip, and it performed remarkably well in 40mph winds, driving rain and cold temperatures. I decided to add the insulated version to my wardrobe and it is just as impressive, though warmer. They are now my two main jackets.
