PreCip great value / Med. vs. Large Great value for the price. Light weight, packable, hood stashes in collar, breathable, pit zips nice for extra breathability. Feels sticky on bare arms, when wearing short sleeve shirt.

Good rain protection, but a delicate garment. I’ve had 2 Marmot Precip jackets. Living in San Diego, I only get a few opportunities to wear them a year. So they spend 99% of their life in a closet. Yet, after about a year the white coating on the interior disintegrates and suddenly there are white flakes everywhere. I know $99 isn’t a lot of money in the outdoor jacket world, but I have similar light rain jackets that haven’t disintegrated in the closet. Good for the price, pretty durable!!! (But ponchos are still better for heavy rain and long exposure) Pretty good for it’s price, i used this for my thru-hike on the Appalachian Trail. Overall pretty good but you will still get wet after prolonged exposure to heavy rain (ponchos are better for that sort of stuff, i bought one after the temperature dropped when you cannot afford being too wet), durable but the colors have started to fade (but that is understandable, i used them a lot). Would recommend unless you expect to be exposed to low temperatures and heavy rain (and most people won’t hike…
