The Red Star Men’s Rain Jacket features Marmot’s comfortable and breathable NanoPro MemBrain 3-Layer waterproofing technology. NanoPro MemBrain coating is comprised of densely packed pores small enough to keep water droplets from getting in, but big enough to let water vapor out—providing cool, dry comfort even as your activity level increases. The Red Star also features fully taped seams to prevent leaks and an adjustable hood with a moldable brim to keep raindrops away from your face and eyes. If interior heat should begin to build up, simply open the water-resistant PitZips—zippered ventilation openings under the arms—to increase air flow. Your arms will retain full mobility through it all, thanks to the built-in Angel-Wing Movement.

A nice lightweight rain shell I live in the PacNW where you must have layers available and a key one here is a rain shell. Having gone through a few I knew that the main attributes you’re looking for is light weight, the ability to breath and a decent fit so it’s not awkward to wear when doing activities. This nails all three. It’s completely waterproof and will keep you dry even in a downpour. It’s very light and packable, fits in my camelbak no problem. It does breathe fairly well and has underarm…

The overall length and arm length seem pretty standard, not too long or short. The jacket fits about true to size, maybe slightly small. It wouldn’t work well as an outer shell for snow activities if you wear another jacket under it because of its size but for moderate…

It’s evident that Marmot designers put a lot of time and thought into this jacket. The adjustable hood (more than just a simple drawstring) keeps out the wind, rain, and chill is one of my favorite features – why isn’t this on every hooded jacket??? There are also plenty of pockets for storing your phone, keys, and a slim wallet, and they are placed in a…
